How come my baby stopped eating?

Loss in Appetite

If your older infant suddenly experiences a loss of appetite, more than likely, she is simply experiencing a growth slow down, and does not need to eat any more than she is. Babies have built in appetite controls, and do a far better job at regulating their diet than most adults do. To ensure that she is getting adequate nutrition when she does eat, be sure to offer a variety of foods, and try to sneak in fruits and vegetables without her realizing. She may enjoy pumpkin muffins, carrot cake, sweet potatoes, a noodle casserole, or yogurt. You may also want to check for teething, as this would also explain a lack of appetite. If her appetite doesn't return after a few days, consult your doctor.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest, at least for the moment, as my daughter refuses to eat her solid food for the last 3 days with the exeption of some nibbles like toast or banana. She has always been a very good eater and her sudden refusal does worry me a lot, however she is still full of energy and happy as always.

Kids are kids and they are going to eat what's tasty. With their taste buds being so hypersensitive, something that's only a little sour to you or me is extremely so to them.
This is why they love the sweets because it's super sweet.
Stay patient and consistent with your daughter. Keep exposing her to new foods and know it can take up to ten exposures before she'll tolerate it.
A rule we have with our children is they have to take one bite, one taste. Understand, we didn't start that until our older one was about five, but even if they didn't like it, they tried it and we'd praise them for it.
If you fight them on food, you'll lose so be patient with them and yourself.
